In the Heroes of Creation Science Series
Robert Boyle (1627-1691) was born into a wealthy family. Despite the fact that his upbringing was scattered among relatives and institutions, he grew up a convinced Christian. He realized that nature reveals the work of the Creator. Unusually for his time, he understood that experiments and research were a powerful witness to Christian faith. Therefore he (and colleague Robert Hooke) carried out experiments on the relationship of temperature to volume of the air. He developed Boyle’s Law which is still so important to how science understands gases. It was his strong faith and his insistence on actual observations of nature that so greatly contributed to his impact on modern thought.
